The ConvaTec AQUACEL® Extra™ Wound Dressing is a sterile, highly absorbent hydrofiber dressing designed to manage moderate to heavily exuding wounds. Measuring 2 inches by 2 inches, this square dressing is composed of two layers of Hydrofiber® technology (sodium carboxymethylcellulose) stitched together for enhanced strength and performance.

It is nine times stronger than the original AQUACEL dressing and offers 39% greater absorbency, making it ideal for challenging wound environments such as leg ulcers, pressure injuries, surgical wounds, and traumatic injuries. Upon contact with exudate, the dressing forms a cohesive gel that maintains a moist wound environment conducive to healing while minimizing maceration of surrounding skin. The gel also helps trap bacteria and debris, supporting infection control.

Provides a barrier against external contaminants and can remain in place for several days, reducing dressing change frequency and patient discomfort.
